Apple Keynote Recap
The Apple keynote address is now over and there are a few exciting new features that are going to be released. First, as you can see from the picture, Apple has released a new 3G iPhone that is also GPS enabled. This new iPhone will also utilize third party app support that includes new games, programs, and uses for the iPhone that have never been seen before.
The most exciting aspect of the new iPhone is the price. $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB. I have to say that this is amazing. Yes, I am pissed because I had to pay double that, but its good to see that they brought the price down to a reasonable level. If they were ever going to make this product marketable to the average consumer, then they have now. I might have to go pick one of these up when I get a chance….use the old one for backup.
The other improvement that was announced dealt with Apple’s failing .Mac service. They have now revamped the whole service, naming it MobileMe, which basically lets you sync all of your information together between your Mac, phone, or Windows PC. They have now bought http://www.me.com and will be rolling the service out soon. This seems a lot cooler than it actually is. With this service, and the new “over air” push functionality, Apple has proven that they are useful in the personal lives of others, as well as the business side. Keeping everything updated through one device makes everyone’s lives easier.
Thats all I have for now, check out the Apple website for some of the other features mentioned.
