Weekend Thoughts…
Thought One: So it was pretty much a standard weekend in ATL. I have come to the conclusion, however, that eating a substantial amount after 9 o’clock on a Saturday night before going out to drink is a terrible idea. Not to mention that I went out with the thought of trying to get pretty sauced, I found myself extremely sober trying to battle a massive crowd at every bar I stepped in. We all know that it absolutely sucks to be in a packed bar and feel completely sober. Anywho, a couple of shots fixed that problem but it was at the expense of my wallet. Frustrating? Yes….

Thought Two: The new iPhone is the shit. Well, I don’t actually have the new 3G iPhone but I have to say that the software upgrade for the phone was completely worth it. I’m most excited about the third party apps that are now available for downloading. Possibilities are endless. This has been my argument for the longest time as to why Apple knows what they are doing when they design their products. Yes, there are other companies that have built gadgets that have been doing these types of cool things for awhile, but they have not made it mainstream enough to where most everyone can wrap their head around it.
For example, for awhile now I have been able to control my computer and iTunes in some form or fashion with a remote device. It either required me to be a huge dork and figure out a way to do it, or buy some contraption that would make it possible. Apple, on the other hand, has provided a small application, called “Remote,” that every iPhone and iPod touch user can operate that allows you to remotely control your iTunes and play the songs you want without being close to the computer. This app is so easy to set up and lets you bring the “wow” factor to a party when you start controlling the tunes from your pocket. The best part is now everyone can do it! Pretty nice…

Music I’m Listening To: “3OH!3” - Yes, the name is extremely weird but is pronounced “three oh three.” This is a band consisting of two white guys who make music like i’ve never heard before. I’m still trying to figure out if I still like or dislike their music, but I have to say that i’m listening to it now and…I like. It combines catchy pop vocals and hardcore rap beats as well as the stereotypical hardcore rap cliches. That sounds like a bad thing but its actually extremely entertaining. I suggest you check them out and hear it for yourself. You heard it hear first if you start to hear these guys in the club or something. I just can’t determine if they can be taken seriously at this point. We shall see….
Katy Perry - “I Kissed A Girl” - I did not like this song when I first heard it. I have to say that it has definitely grown on me. I will be using this in any new songs I mix up soon. Plus, she’s kind of hot too.

Music from the movie “Donnie Darko” - I watched this movie the other weekend and it has a great soundtrack. INXS, Pet Shop Boys, Tears For Fears, and Duran Duran are a few of the bands that have great songs at various points in the movie. If you are interested, shoot me an email and I can send you a list of some of the songs I have. Even better, hit up Google and look it up.
